Tsakonas Earns PSUAC Coach of the Year
University Park, Pa. - Penn State Scranton's Head Softball Coach Mar Tsakonas earned top PSUAC honors last week, being named Co-Coach of the Year. Mar is in her 7th season as head coach of the Scranton Lady Lions who recently made their first post season appearance since 2016. The squad improved their conference win record by 20% to 5-9 from 2024's 3-15 and moved up in the PSUAC rankings after competitive play. With defensive improvements the team put out strong performances including infielder Aryanna Bodge who earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors. Mar, a former short stop for the Scranton Lady Lions also serves as Penn State Scranton's Athletic Program Specialist and has been with the department for over a decade. Tsakonas shares the 2025 PSUAC Coach of the Year honors with PSU Schuylkill's Darle Cresswell.
