Bill Kline is entering his fourth year as head coach of the women’s volleyball team at Penn State Scranton. Coach Kline has a wide range of coaching experience including coaching high school girls’ basketball for 15 years and baseball for 14 years. Most recently, he has coached boys’ volleyball at North Pocono High School and girls’ volleyball at Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville.
Bill is a native of Pottsville who teaches in the Pocono Mountain School District as a Math Specialist. He received a BS in Mathematics and Education from Kutztown University in 1987 where in his spare time he played intramural volleyball.
Bill resides in Pottsville with his wife Colleen and their 3 children, William, Kelseyand Justin. Bill enjoys coaching his younger children in basketball, baseball and golf.
The mentality Coach Kline likes to instill in his players is that at any level there is always something to learn and to be taught. In learning something new at every practice and every game and to compete at the highest level you have to be dedicated to the sport and to the team. His motto: "The way you practice is the way you play; always maintain a level of competitiveness."
