Kayla Winsor
Kayla Winsor is a sophomore Speech Pathology major at PSWS and is heading down to University Park in the fall after recently being offered a very special position. Kayla, a PSWS Cheerleader last year was chosen as one of only 12 individuals to be a member of the Co-ed Team at University Park!
Kayla, a cheerleader since junior high school graduated from Scranton and continued to cheer as a memeber of all star teams like Keystone Extreme. Kayla has been a gymnast for 13 years and works at Alpha Gymnastics coaching young ladies.
After recently trying out for the Cheer Squad at University Park Kayla commented on her experience. " There were over 100 people there and they accepted video tryouts, " Kayla said " I did not know what I was up against." Depsite all the pressure Kayla said she wasn't nervous once she was there and she stood stong and did what she does best. "Each day there were cuts," she said " and I was one of the 12 people who made co-ed!" This means that Kayla will get to travel with the football team and cheer during the home and away games.
Kayla has a passion for working with children and hopes that her education at Penn State in speech pathology will help her develop her skills so that she can eventually move to South Carolina and work with kids.
Kayla loves cheering, working out, and baseball. She loves the Phillies and watches them every chance she can get including going to their games. She enjoys family trips to the beach and is looking forward to moving to State College this summer to start cheer camps in August.
Congratulations Kayla and Good Luck!
